Governance towards fraud prevention

Lomé, 27 July 2016. A conference on the theme “Governance towards fraud prevention: what are the challenges and innovative solutions for corporate executive officers in the WAMEU region?” was held at the headquarters of the West African Development Bank (BOAD). The focus of this meeting was to discuss the specific challenges to which directors and senior executives must adapt when deploying governance principles and tools as well as new fraud prevention strategies in the region.

BOAD supports two agricultural projects in Mali

Bamako, 13 July 2016. Mr. Christian Adovelande, President of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) has signed two loan agreements totalling XOF10 billion to strengthen food security in Mali. Under the first agreement signed with Mr. Boubou Cisse, Minister of Economy and Finance of Mali, BOAD will finance the final stage of the second phase of the Molodo north hydro-agricultural project in the Office du Niger area. Under the second loan agreement signed with Mr. Ibrahima Maiga, Chairman of the AGRIZED Board, BOAD will support the company's rice, onion, potato and maize cultivation project at M'Béwani, also in the Office du Niger area.

BOAD provides a second financial assistance to Benin for the upgrading of the drinking water supply system in the city of Parakou and its environs

Lome, 7 July 2016. Messrs. Christian Adovelande, President of the West African Development Bank (BOAD), and David Babalola, Managing Director of SONEB (Benin's national water utility) signed a loan agreement totalling XOF5.575 billion for the partial funding of the drinking water supply system upgrading project for Parakou and its surrounding communities.

XOF20 billion for the construction of Boulevard des Tansoba in Ouagadougou

Lomé, 24 June 2016. Mr. Christian Adovelande, President of West African Development Bank (BOAD), and Mrs. Hadizatou Rosine Coulibaly-Sori, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Economy, Finance and Development, signed a loan agreement involving XOF20 billion for the partial construction of Boulevard des Tansoba in Ouagadougou.
