BOAD is celebrating 45 years
The West African Development Bank (BOAD) will celebrate on 14 November this year, its forty-fifth anniversary. This celebration will be marked by a reflection.
On this occasion, a high-level forum will be held in Lomé, Togo on the theme: “Solar energy in the economy of WAEMU countries: situational review, challenges and policies.” This forum will enable the participants to review various issues related to renewable energies and particularly solar energy, inter alia: i) the situational analysis of the market and ecosystem in relation to solar energy development strategies in the WAEMU region, ii) the report on BOAD’s activities in solar energy development as well as the experiences of its partners including AfDB, AFD, EIB, World Bank, etc., iii) the resource mobilization and knowhow for solar energy financing.
The forum will bring together government officials from member countries as well as the region’s institutions, development partners, banks, NGOs working in the environmental field and promoting renewable energies.
As part of this celebration, a photo contest on projects financed by the Bank in the Union and another one aiming at rewarding “start-ups” working in the solar energy field will be launched. Rules pertaining to the said contests, important prizes at stake as well as participation criteria and conditions will be released in the coming days.
