BOAD is holding in Côte d’Ivoire a training workshop on procurement procedures for people involved in public procurement chain.

009I7103Abidjan, 29 July 2019. Mr. Jean Marcel Aboumon, Chief of BOAD Resident Mission in Côte d’Ivoire, chaired the opening ceremony of a training workshop on BOAD’s procurement procedures for people involved in public procurement chain.

Following the adoption by the institution of new procurement policies based on international standards and community directives on public procurement, this five-day training course is planned in all the member countries of the Bank.

Its purpose is to allow players involved in public procurement, to deal with procedures governing this activity in order to upgrade the execution level of projects supported by the Bank. More specifically, the session will focus on:

  • Directives relating to procurement;
  • Standard tender documents and templates of tender evaluation reports;
  • Steps to speed up the review of funding requests submitted by borrowers;
  • Policies and procedures for prevention and fight against fraud and corruption.

The session is attended by some thirty participants from operators involved in projects financed by the Bank, project supervising ministries, delegate project managers and Bank-supported water and power utilities.

After Senegal, Burkina, Benin, Mali, Niger, Togo and Côte d’Ivoire, the upcoming training will take place in Guinea Bissau.
