FP138 (ASER) Senegal Rural Solar Electrification Project
The ASER Rural Electrification Project in Senegal is aimed at the electrification of 1,000 localities through distributed solar photovoltaic systems, with a capacity building component for the main stakeholders, thereby ensuring the promotion of an ideal sustainable environment provided through the solar mini-grids, as well as support for accessing funds to promote the generation of clean energy. The project beneficiaries will be approximately 38,917 rural households spread over 1,000 villages to be electrified (ultimate capacity of 32 MW solar photovoltaic mini-grids) and 3,739 users of energy energy traders whom are mostly grouped as women and young people. The total project cost is 198.7 M EUR (130 334 M XOF). The total project cost is made up of a 38% GCF fund representing an amount of EUR 75.445 million (XOF 49,488 million). The rest of the funding is provided by BOAD, KfW-IPEX and the Senegalese State.

FP105 Program for the Promotion of Private Investments in the Solar Energy Sector
The Program for the Promotion of Private Investments in the Solar Energy Sector (PPIPS) in West Africa aims to address financial and technical barriers to investment in the solar energy sector in Least Developed Countries (LDC’s) in the WAEMU region, particularly for the republics of Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger and Togo. The implementation of the Program will benefit approximately 2.9 million inhabitants in these six (6) Countries and will help avoid greenhouse gas emissions estimated at 4.8 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The total cost of the Program is 250 M EUR (164 958 M XOF). The total funding is made up of 50% funding from the GCF, thus 61 M EUR (40,013 M XOF) made up of 57 M EUR (37,390 M XOF) of concessional loan and 4 M EUR (2,624 M XOF) of grant. BOAD will provide co-funding of EUR 61 million for the closing of the financing. It is to be noted that, the project will have the participation of local financial institutions and the private sector to the tune of EUR 128 million (XOF 83,963 million).

FP102 (MALI) Rural Solar Electrification Project
The Mali Rural Solar Electrification Project (PERS) is aimed at electrifying of 70 rural communities through distributed photovoltaic solar systems. It equally has a capacity building component for actors engaged in rural electrification so as to hasten solar electrification, and create opportunities for funding to be generated through the promotion and generation of clean energy. Its implementation will benefit approximately 311,000 inhabitants spread across rural areas within six (06) regions of Mali namely (Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti and Tombouctou) and will contribute in avoiding greenhouse gas emissions estimated at 1.03 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The total cost of the Project is 46.2 M EUR (30 305 M XOF). It is financed by the GCF to the tune of EUR 35.34 M (XOF 23,182 M) including EUR 25.95 million (XOF 17,022 M) for a first tranche, made up of EUR 24.3 M (XOF 15,940 M) in the form of a concessional loan and a grant of EUR 1.65 M (XOF 1,082 M). BOAD is expected to co-financing with a total of 10.63 M EUR (6,973 M XOF), including 8.3 M EUR (54 44 M XOF) for tranche 1.
