WAMU COUNCIL OF MINISTERS APPROVES BOAD ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2018

Dakar, 22 March 2019. WAMU Council of Ministers met for its regular meeting at the premises of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Dakar (Senegal), under the chairmanship of Mr. Romuald Wadagni, Minister of Economy and Finance of Benin, Chairman of WAMU Council of Ministers.

After approving the Section on BOAD in the minutes of its ordinary meeting held on 21 December 2018 in Dakar (Senegal) and the 2018 annual report of the Institution, the Council approved the accounts of BOAD for the year ended 31 December 2018, adopted by BOAD Board of Directors at its 112th meeting held in Dakar on 20 March 2019.

With the Bank’s results up by 36.7% compared to 2017, after allocation, this will help strengthen the Institution’s subsidy mechanism and BOAD’s equity base amounting to XOF707 billion or approximately US$1.2 billion to date.

The President of BOAD informs the Council of the decision taken by the Board of Directors on the proposal from the highest Malian authorities, to extend till 28 February 2020 the term of office of Mr. Bassary Toure, Vice President of BOAD.
