GENDER EQUALITY AND EQUITY

The analytical concepts of sustainable and equitable human development refer respectively, for equality, to the inclusion and equal distribution of opportunities between women and men, and for equity, to a fair, impartial and equitable distribution between women and men. Equality refers to inclusion and similarity in treatment, given that it is legally or constitutionally acquired. Equity refers to the fair sharing of resources, opportunities and benefits within a given structure or institution.
