BOAD and AFDB close EUR 70 million financing agreement to strenghten support for the private sector in West Africa

BOAD Headquarters, Lomé. December 8th, 2023. Mr. Moustapha BEN BARKA, BOAD Vice President in charge of Financing and Investment and Wilfrid ABIOLA, AFDB representative in Togo signed an agreement on granting a 70 million line of credit with a 10-year maturity, on behalf of their respective institutions.

Granted by AFDB, this line of credit encompasses a joint funding from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, CDP, an Italian public organization and FINDEV.  Aligned with the objectives of BOAD Djoliba strategic plan, this program will support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and promoting female entrepreneurship in the WAEMU region, and should enable the creation of 5900 jobs at least, including 2000 jobs for women.
