Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in Diass, Senegal

  • Need and objectives: The need for a new international airport in Senegal has become obvious due to the increasing economic growth and tourism in the Dakar region. Dakar’s Léopold Sédar Senghor international airport had reached maximum capacity and could no longer meet the country’s growing air transport needs. The AIBD construction project was therefore designed to solve this problem by providing a modern airport infrastructure adapted to the expected growth in air traffic.
